Building products feels like carpentry to me, only with every tool in the world at my fingertips. I still can't believe I get to live in this moment of human history. I come from a small town that had no idea what a software engineer was, or even a computer. I had no idea how I'd pull it off. But I trusted the conclusions I had reached on my own, and I still do :)
I do have a go-to stack, usually TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, Astro, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Redis, AWS, and AI agents and their SDKs, but I’m excited by how AI has democratized coding. It has lowered the barriers to exploring unfamiliar systems and understanding deeper concepts.
