Choose where results go and how they are named, easier splitting, macOS and GNOME looks, and licenses for work. Released October 2, 2026.

A bar along the bottom of the window says where new files are saved and what they are called.

  • Save to puts each result next to its original by default. Pick a folder instead and it is remembered, along with the last five you used.
  • Name sets the file name from a pattern. {name}-{tool} is the default and gives names like interview-clean.wav. Click the braces button to add {name}, {tool}, {n} or {date}, and the bar shows an example as you type.
  • Your originals are never changed, and a result never replaces a file that is already there. It gets a number instead.

The Split tool was hard to follow, so it was rebuilt around what you get out.

  • The picture of the sound shades and numbers each part.
  • Click the picture to move the playhead and listen, then press Split here, which sits right on the playhead. The S key does the same.
  • Drag a split by its round handle to move it.
  • The list under the picture shows every part with its start, end and length. Play just one part, or join it with the next.
  • Split evenly into cuts a long recording into equal parts.

Appearance at the bottom of the sidebar has a macOS style and a GNOME style, light, dim or dark colours, and seven accent colours. The title bar follows the colours you pick. On a Mac the macOS style is the default.

Ampliflare Audio is free for personal use, up to 20 files a week. A license adds commercial use and removes the limit, at a price you pick for now. Every tool works the same either way. Personal and commercial use has the details, including how to move a key to another computer.

  • Help at the bottom of the sidebar links to this site and these docs.
  • A new icon.
  • Updates now download from a faster, public server, and the app checks it on start. When a new version is ready, a bar at the top offers to install it.
  • Windows found no ffmpeg even when it was installed.
  • A finished file now says what it was saved as, not just Done.
